The objectives of Armed Forces Day are threefold:

 

To cement AFD in the public consciousness as the lead action-orientated day to honour and celebrate the work of the UK Armed Forces and those that support them.

To encourage members of the public to actively engage in a celebration of the UK’s Armed Forces.

To raise awareness and enhance the reputation of the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, Reservists, Veterans, Cadets and the wider Armed Forces community including Service families.

 

 

The Swindon Armed Forces Committee are planning an exciting day of events and activities for the 2016 event with the support of the local community and businesses.
